Brave Boy Noah…His fight is our fight
The Journey….
Diagnosis
Noah was diagnosed with DIPG in November 2023. His symptoms ranged from difficulty with motor functioning to falling down rather consistently. A CT scan revealed a mass in the brain. Further imaging confirmed a maligned tumor. Radition is often the first line of treatment for this type of tumor.
Radiation Therapy
Noah began radiation late November. He rang the bell to signify the end of radiation treatment on January 5, 2024. At 5-years-old, Noah was able to receive his 30 treatments of radiation without sedation and proved to be a champ as he “zapped the bad lump.”
Ongoing Treatment
Noah responded well to radiation and continues his journey. As a family, we have our ups and downs, joys and disappointments. Through it all we stay faithful in our faith and are grateful for God’s grace.
Living in the NOW….
As we walk with Noah along his health journey, we focus on the now. In educating ourselves abut DIPG, we have learned that their is no one way, nor right or wrong way, to experience this journey. As a family we lean into our faith. God is still God and we continue to trust God and remain faithful. Noah leads our nightly family prayers when he desires. Our village of family and friends hold us up and we are thankful. The Early Family summer 2024 motto is live in the NOW. Noah had a wish granted by Make-A-Wish Foundation. We spent a wonderful week in Orlando, FL and visited 4 Disney theme parks. Noah celebrated a birthday in July and we had a great time hosting his friends for his 6th birthday party at SkyZone. We spent a week at the beach in Ocean City, MD. We have family movie nights, dates at Chuck E Cheese, and help others celebrate their special day. Noah has attended a birthday party almost every weekend this summer. We are happy he is loved and that through his warm, loving, and kind spirit, he is teaching others how to live in the NOW…live boldly and live brave.
